In this day and age of terrorism and threats of war comes forth a beast that the metal world at hand has been crying out for. Rearing its unholy head from the ruble of the church and bearing its teeth of steel bullets comes forth Wehrwolfe.
Wehrwolfe's first blasphemous release is named "Godless We Stand." There is no justice than to say , this is the BEST war fucking metal to date. Bow to your new masters!!!!! This CD is 11 tracks of extremely well forged and executed war metal.
This wehrmacht consists of Nathan Ellis who is the vocal general of the band. Lashing his tongue out on his pulpit in spite of the fallen departed Christ. Crying out on the lead and rhythm guitars is Chuck. What a talent to wield your instrument as a weapon of hate. Pure Christ annihilating riffs. Hear the cries!!!! Devon pounds out the bass guitars helping lay waste to the masses as part of this massive tank of doom and destruction. Then there is the master of the machine gun turret styled blastbeat drums, Scott Pletcher. Mother fucker is bigger than the devil himself. He rolls the drums as if sitting atop a tank just obliterating everything in his path and in his sites. Jesus died for your sins, only because he was afraid of the day that he foreseen as the coming of the Wehrwolfe. After all the wolf is a predator of the lamb!!! Its gyro time, throw him in the cooker.
As imagined the best way to listen to this recording is extremely loud and with surround sound. So you can pick out all the warring sounds!!!!
The first song "Unholy Crusade" is really just an intro. The tanks are rumbling, voices are crying out commands, people are screaming, blasts of bombs are heard all over the place, and machine gun fire whizzes past your ears seeming to barely graze them.
Second song is the title track, "Godless We Stand". Some of the best lyrical content is "immune one nation against heaven" and "onslaught has now begun, lay waste the holy son". Its amazing the power that you feel off of the very first song. Thrashing brutality!!!! It hits me in the chest like a ton of bricks.
Song three is "MIA2 Battalion of Hate". This song starts out with more cries of torture and a massive squeaky tank rolling on. Then comes the reign of terror on drums. What an excellent blaster to start out a song. One of the finest intro beats ever!!!! Lyrical content i favored was, "pounding rounds of lead into your chest, heavy barrel the only way. A crash course in vengeance iron steeds roll on." Thrashy black hatred and excellent guitar riffs executed through out.
Song four is fast as hell and titled, "Stainless Steel Lycanthropy". Loud and crunchy and some haunting vocal effects. Favored lyric would be, "Servants of the lie, shed tears for the lives you waste, hearts filled with dread consumed with the filth you spread. Despair in your eyes, haunting visions of a ghastly hue, your blood you will taste as a reign of bullets shred your face."
Number five is "Bloodstained Honor". Another hailing of bullets and this excellent guitar intro which creates a most apocalyptic feel to this masterpiece. Lyrical peak for me was, "Allies of the world, come forth and hear me now. The time is now to fight. No room in our hearts for fear. Take up arms and bleed for freedom. This is war! We've come to fucking dominate!" Reminds me of current events, but i will save that for the media.
Number six is an instrumental. With thick bass and freakish acid sounds and helicopter samples and even some back masking sounds. Drums kick in and create a short little march.
Number seven is another heavy as fuck blaster. Titled, "Forged Sufferance". Lyric, " Heathen armies surround the holy mass, domination is at hand. Searing omens of vengeful lust, malice in wait the trap was set. Conquer lands of christian foes, souls screaming toward the sky. Impending doom, decimate their savior. In flames your feeble martyr dies. Your savior has fallen now, unto us. Burning within legions of our pagan eyes." So many levels to look at this ensemble of musicians. Lyrically, vocally, music, warriors, saviors, you decide. I know what i like.
Number eight is another instrumental with decent drumming and cymbal crashing and a decent growl. Bound together with some sweet guitars.
Number nine is, " The Trinity Undone". Lyric favored, "Annihilation of disease, that's spoken when you praise, your holy text of salvation that we oppose in every way. Lamb of god sent to earth, lost herds to congregate. Amongst us wolves, his blood we drink as we celebrate. Rejection of your holy spirit, meet his demise, standing tall, we shall not crawl, hate swells in our eyes. Wretched god sent from earth, never to return, left a withered cross, drenched in flame, forever shall it burn".
Ten is "Final March". " You gotta decide whether your a wolf or a sheep". That's all there is to say.
Continuing the strength of the album is the last song, Masked Jackal" . A Coroner classic reconstructed with perfection. A must check out song. Fun to hear. "
So whether you liked the brief song over views or not....Wehrwolfe- "Godless We Stand" is a phenomenal album. You will join the fight and buy the album!!! Thank me later!!
