Band: Siegfried
CD: Eisenwinter

Review:

SIEGFRIED is a band of complex and appealing, epic heavy metal proportions. SIEGFRIED's new CD release, "Eisenwinter" is an album for everyone to experience and not go by this review on. Reason being there is no justice that my smoke propelled fingers can do for this band due to the lyrics being in German and the bands complexity. The album cover is rather quite inspiring for the hand to immediately drop the CD in the player. It has a wounded knight on the cover seemingly screaming to the sky "Why?". Why what, you ask? Im not really sure. Loss of family, love, brotherhood, honor or all of the above. As the CD begins you are immediately tossed into a time gone past. There are flute's playing and a massive raging fire in the background. Deep Germanic voices seem to say "They are coming," as if a message being passed throughout this clan of warriors. Then a loud cry is heard, "To the weapons!!!!!" Siegfreid is brought to life. This album is totally in German. But please do not let that stop you from checking it out. It totally rules and does help maintain a feeling of power and bloodshed in the albums seeming saga. There are keyboards that help bring this warrior soundscape to life. The drums are firm and placed on many levels. There are three vocalist, one of which is female. "Eisenwinter" is multi-faceted and i believe you will hear death, power, speed, Viking, metal influences in this album. I will give myself more time to fully enjoy this album and even see myself being more open to their other releases and infact being more open to foreign inspired metal bands. As i said please check this album out for yourself and realize that i DID FULLY ENJOY it. It's just hard for me to give a 100% accurate review when i do not understand the lyrics. SIEGFRIED's, "Eisenwinter," is quite an eye opening experience and i hope you enjoy!!!!!! This album receives a rating of 10 out of. I will not give a band a point deduction due to my lack of education in foreign language.
