Not many a band can capitalize upon their self-christening. A band’s name can mean so much. Not just in the interpretation of a band’s personal philosophy on the world but can in so much as it can be the fuel for their fire.
Quick Change slices straight to the chase with the astounding “Money, Lust & Greed”. Ripping hard and fast from the first snap of the snare and roaring tsunami of thrusting distortion, the band immediately identifies itself. Shifting gears extraordinarily well, the whole thing goes tribal. The drum and bass combo breathing in unison to create just the proper pulpit from which a message of delusion might be spread. The growl of the vocalist despair and anger combine into the slashing arrangement nothing short of perfection.
A toil of demanding attention is apparent throughout IV Life. A great deal of careful thought and craftsmanship to arrangements within the material and the quality of sound is self-evident. It is not only obvious these men care about how they sound to themselves but also to an audience.
I highly recommend that we all get the lead out of our collective asses the next time Quick Change lay it down in St. Louis. Love is nothing for you, family is something you don’t need, the only interest in this world is money, lust and greed.
