Review:
When I think of a sound that would be used to animate a scene straight from H.R. Giger's "Necronomicon", I think of Fission. This powerful Black Metal outfit wields a sound reminiscent of the mighty Dimmu Borgir, but far more stripped down and accessible then the aforementioned. I was very glad when the guitar solo started making its way back into metal, and these guys make use of it with taste and pure, brutal talent. Their combination of heavy and clean vocals gives Fission a bite that's rarely heard in this field. Fission is one of those kinds of bands you can sit back, listen to, and just say "Fuck yeah". Expect to hear more of them in the future.
