Review:
Ok. Honestly, metal fans. When is the last time you listened to a DEICIDE record and went “Wow! Fuck! That smoked!”?? But then I guess anyone who knows the real story will say they were putting out stinkers because they wanted out of their contract with their label. Well that right there is enough to piss me off. Pissing on their fans by releasing shit because they didn’t like Roadrunner is not the way to make me happy.
Now, they are one of the originators of Floridian death metal and have put out some bangin’, fuckin’ records. Their self-titled release is an all-time classic and “Legion” is an amazing record. “Serpents” and “Once Upon” as well are great pieces of music! So now they are out of their contract and are with Earache Records. It’s guaranteed to be a masterpiece, you know, because now DEICIDE are "happy," and honestly, after hearing the performance singer Glenn Benton did on the latest VITAL REMAINS record, I was convinced he was revitalized.
“Scars Of The Crucifix” shows us basically DEICIDE may be out of gas. It is sickening at times. It does explore a few new ideas, but nothing to shake my nuts. Best thing about the album is the artwork.
Glenn, join VITAL REMAINS and put out some quality music!
