One day, we’re riding around in the infamous "metal van". Myself, Verbal Narcotic guitarist Richie, and our roadie Slade, when Richie suddenly spouts out: This is killer stuff, who the hell is this? I gotta get one of these albums. And Slade immediately chimes in with his own verbiage, No shit, I was just wondering the same thing! Well, the truth is, what was coming out of the massive speakers of the "metal van" at the time was DEFLAGRATION. Without doubt, this is a disk that will see time in my player until the damn thing wears out. Ten tracks of some of the most contemplative metal I’ve heard in a long time. While any review that I give hear cannot possibly compare to the simple words of Richie and Slade, let me just say these few words: If you like your metal heavy, if you like it fast, or slow, or with lots of great guitar leads, and heavy bass, or with killer vocals that switch up suddenly, you’ll love Deflagration. They have no problem with timing changes, tempo changes, or putting a taste of every style of metal possible into their music. The drummer just smokes his ass off throughout the entire disk, and props to the frontman for his excellent abilities. No time in review should be spared from either the guitarist or the bassist who both set the paces for this most excellent music brilliantly. I found this disk to be very well done and extremely thoughtful and easily qualifies as brutal, both lyrically and musically. Do yourself a favor, and get over to the Deflagration website as quickly as you can, don’t take my word for it, just find out for yourself. www.deflagration.net Until next time........Keep it heavy!!!!!!!!!!
