Ok. We all know the history here right--I think his wife is a complete bitch. (I actually heard they are not together anymore. Ha ha ha ha ha… He probably said my name in the house and she got pissed.) But truly, it has never had anything to do with Alexi, because I think he’s an absolutely awesome musician and CHILDREN OF BODOM is chock full of good musicians.

I can honestly say COB has never been my favorite band and I think the hype over them is just a little too much. But I do have all of their albums and I listen to them. I think no matter what anyone says, they have created their own little sound here, because you try to think of what genre it fits in?!?!?!?!?!? And they created this sound with three solid albums full of originality, precise riffing, and keyboard mastery--the main components of their trademark sound--with just enough hook in their songs to keep you singing. The drumming has always been the only thing that has not done anything for me, and that does not change on this release.

What does change is they obviously did something to make them shoot differently. Maybe they stopped drinking beer (because obviously they like beer), but this time the children show us they know how to groove! With PANTERA-ish grooves and a much heavier approach this time around, this makes for some of the best BODOM tunes ever! I will make this short and sweet, because I could go on all day. Different sound, lots of groove--I like it! However, here are the bad points:
1.Worst album title of the year
2.Worst song titles of the year
3.Do not, I repeat, do not cover SLAYER again, please!

Look, Alexi. I hope you don’t try and kill me when we meet someday, because I really have nothing against you. And your wife… Well, as long as she is not there, we can drink a beer, eh?
