Review:

I was a bit worried when I read Aborym's bio, and the description of the direction of this release. The bio states, "Aborym are able to break the boundaries between Black Metal, and Industrial / Noise / Techno...". I shouldn't have worried. "Kali Yuga Bizarre" has become a welcome addition to my collection. Aborym DO, in fact utilize elements of all the aforementioned genres, but for effect only. This is without a doubt still Black Metal of the highest order. What they do with the electronic elements is create textures as background for their music which is all the darker as a result. Take track three ("Hellraiser") for instance. Instead of being the raging Black Metal anthem I had expected, it is a very dark and slow composition. A slow track, it serves to show that they seem to be actually TRYING to raise Hell in the most literal sense. An essential CD!
